B+B's fav designers of the moment (Biannca's)
Proenza Schouler: Hmm.. well what is there not to love about this line, it is absolutely lovely. The colours are fab, the mix of fabrics and textures make the collection interesting to look at. I love the cohesiveness and the way the collection flows. Also I have a slight shoe fetish and the shoes are quite fantastic. This collection is perfect for some aimless, effortless summer fun.
Junya Watanabe: I picked Junya Watanabe because he interests me. The whole collection is very black and white, however, because of all the different patterns i find it intriguing. Also, if that doesn't interest you maybe the different shapes and ways the head pieces are is something to keep you interested, I know I was. This collection doesn't make me want to jump to the beach but it is definitely something fun to think about.
Yves Saint Laurent: Just a classic. Stefano Pilati makes it look so easy. I don't know any other designer this classic that can flash garments with cherry and strawberry patterned textiles, so silly, but so lovely. Then when there isn't the whimsical patterns there is beautifully constructed garments. The stunning contrast between draped and unstructured garments to spectacular tailored ones makes it a great show to view.
Miu Miu: I love Miu Miu, I think the work is fab. I prefer Miu Miu over Prada because of the youthfulness, I find that I could see myself wearing much more Miu Miu then Prada. I recommend checking this collection out because of the wonderful bead work. I love bead work especially when it is so unique and so young looking I guess, I don't really know how to explain it, but it looks like spontaneous beading.. if that makes sense. I feel a huge amount of fun when I look at the SS 2010 collection, there is something young and inspiring about it.
Valentino: And then theres Valentino, my fav. Ouu.. within the first few garments I am completely compelled to this collection. I think the construction is absolutely stunning I am always amazed. I don't know what it is, possibly its the cute but gorgeous bows, I don't know all I know is I love! The piece that Abbey Lee wears just melts my heart. Pier Paolo Piccioli's work inspires me in SO many ways. I love the frillies and the florals. I am just in LOVE.
inspirational song of the moment!!
With such an ah-mazing winter I couldn't help feeling very hyper and happy the last few days. (not to mention my mum has agreed to take my sister and I to New York in August...!!!!) My song of the moment is one I found on hypem.com, if you don't use the site, start, it's magical. The song is old but the remixed version with Steve Aoki makes life worth living, hope you fall in love, xoxx Bri.

B+B's fav designers of the moment (Briannes)
SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!
and what better way to celebrate than pick our fav spring/summer desingers and compare them!
Brianne's Top 5:
Marc Jacobs - always a staple in my eyes, he can do no wrong (unless you count that little incident with Perry Ellis in the 90's which got him fired and eventually ended the Perry Ellis line) but as usual he doesn't disapoint for spring/summer 2010 keeping with the trend of pretty pale pastels (which i adore) and girly details, i am so pleased that i will continue to wear marc to all my summer parties!
Chloe - what list of fav designers wouldn't be complete for spring/summer than without Chloe? With pastels and neutrals being the "it" color scheme of this year its no wonder Chloe will be the top contender, they do pastels and neutrals like it's no bodys business, and the SEE by Chloe purses are ah-dorable.
Alice + Olivia - usually A + O is a little more edgy with bright colors and bold prints, often embellished with studs and sequins, they have however tonned it down for SS'10, which to my likings is great, I do love A + O for their dresses but I am happy to see something a little different. The pic is from GG, my fav Blair Waldorf in a stunning dress, pastels galore!!
Alexander McQueen - what about him isn't fabulous? He's my fav designer alll the time. Always such an artist and ALWAYS shocking everyone, this man does no wrong, as for the photo, it doesn't display much of his art but if your curious I'd rather you look him up for yourself! This pic caught my attention when I was FOURTEEN, only 5 years ago, and since then he has exploded, props alex, keep killin' it.
Vivienne Westwood - crazy weird. I love Vivienne Westwood so fucking MUCH. she's insane, her spring summer 2010 fashion show blew my mind. In a sense it was simple but the fact that it was done in a old masion, with eery music but beautiful clothes made it so appealing to my eyes. I think she may be a slightly underated designer and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Staff party on the West Side
Last night both of us went to our work's staff party with our mum. Biannca works whenever she's got time off school and Brianne (I) work full time, our mum is the office manager and I am reception and a medical assistant. We work for an alternative dental and medical office, it's super neat to know all the latest technology to cure/help patients without giving them drugs. Here's our fav pic of the three of us! (WE LOVE YOU MUM!!) Biannca (left) wears a Trosman dress from Misch on South Granville, Brianne (center) wears an Alice and Olivia dress from Holts and a headband from Bergdorfs. Mum (right) wears a Michael Kors top.

Proenza Shoulers Spring 2010 Inspired by AVATAR?
If you haven't yet watched Proenza Shoulers Spring 2010 line I suggest you watch it now. The colours, fabrics, textures, are ah-mazing. They have done a fantastic job at throwing together ready-to-wear pieces, but I ask you fashion readers this simple question, what are designers inspired by? Obviously this is NOT a simple question. Without a doubt designers can be inspired by a million different things, Marc Jacobs favours modern art, just as an example, but could it be that Porenza Shouler was maybe slightly inspired by the highest grossing movie of all time, AVATAR? With all the fabulous colours that made up the make-believe world that is Pandora, it's not a wonder that a designer could be inspired by this. Lazaron Hernandez and Jack McCullough however, do say that they were inspired by the West Coast and the Sea, I also can help but wonder that there was a little AVATAR inspiration as well, take a look for yourself and let us know who or what you think they were inspired by and WHO ARE YOU I N S P I R E D BY?
Brianne's new a+o dress.
I LOVE MY NEW ALICE AND OLIVIA DRESS, but if I could only stop working and writing 1,000 word essays maybe I could get wear it out somewhere... Fashion school isn't all fun and games my friends.
I left the red belt at Holt's, red on red isn't really my thing... I prefer an embellished black leather studded belt... doesn't everyone?
